What is Craft?
Craft is the practice and exercise of skill in the production of art, or that skill with which art is created. Effectively, craft can be the act, the means, and the result of creating a marble sculpture. We can call the sculptor, the stonemason, or the brewer, for example, craftsmen, because they participate in a certain craft.

However, craft is also displayed by the time, effort, and attention to detail invested in a project. Craft can be the painstaking process of sanding, engraving, and glossing a handmade wooden chair, or finding out where to place those last finishing strokes on a scenic landscape oil painting.
Finally, craft is learned by the experience of continually making art. Take for example the task of keeping a regular sketchbook; on a regular basis an artist will draw what they see around them, with the hopes of honing their attention to light and form and the execution of their stroke—the artist is exercising their craft.
